The Saudi Informatics Team achieved 3 international awards at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025), held in Sucre, Bolivia, from 27 July to 3 August 2025, with 334 students representing 86 countries.

According to the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), Mohammed Nasser Al-Asmari – the Royal Commission of Education in Jubail, won a bronze medal, while Imad Ali Al-Harbi – the General Directorate of Education in Qassim, and Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Eiban – the General Administration of Education in Riyadh, each received a certificate of appreciation.

Mawhiba illustrated that the Kingdom’s total tally in its seven engagements at the IOI has now reached 11 international awards, including 7 bronze medals and 4 certificates of appreciation, since Saudi Arabia joined the competition in 2019, reflecting a steady rise in national performance in computer science and programming.

This participation is part of the Mawhiba International Olympiads Program, implemented in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, aiming to prepare and empower Saudi students for global scientific competitions through intensive training programs supervised by elite local and international experts.

The International Olympiad in Informatics is a prestigious annual competition worldwide in programming and computer science for secondary school students. First held in 1989 in Bulgaria, the contest spans two days of complex algorithmic problem-solving, conducted individually in a controlled environment with no external resources allowed.
