The National Gifted Olympiad | Research Track

The National Gifted Olympiad is the Kingdom’s national ecosystem that brings together the Scientific Track (NSMO)and the Research Track (Ibdaa) under one umbrella to identify gifted students, develop their capabilities, and prepare them to compete in international science olympiads and science fairs and represent the Kingdom in them.

The National Gifted Olympiad is a comprehensive journey that begins with identifying gifted students, followed by training and qualification, and culminates in representing the Kingdom at leading international scientific competitions.

Yes. Students can participate in both tracks of the National Gifted Olympiad.

The Scientific Track (NSMO) targets middle school students and first-year high school students, while the Research Track (Ibdaa) targets middle and high school students.

The Research Track (Ibdaa) covers 22 scientific research and innovation fields.

The journey begins with registration, followed by assessments, training and qualification, the finals, and ultimately selection for the Saudi national teams and participation in international competitions.

The Scientific Track (NSMO) journey consists of five main stages:

•    Online Assessment
•    National Teams Assessment
•    Training and Central Assessments
•    Finals

Students develop scientific thinking, research and innovation skills, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, self-confidence, and the ability to compete internationally.

Selected students join programs designed to prepare the Saudi national teams for participation in international science olympiads and science fairs.

Students may qualify for the International Physics Olympiad, International Chemistry Olympiad, International Biology Olympiad, International Mathematical Olympiad, International Olympiad in Informatics, International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, International Nuclear Science Olympiad, International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, International Junior Science Olympiad, and other international olympiads, as well as the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) for students in the Research Track (Ibdaa).

Students from the Kingdom participate in more than 29 international and regional olympiads and scientific competitions.
