Distribution of Partnership Schools within the Kingdom:
Overview
Based on our awareness at Mawhiba of the importance of the school environment, as one of the basic components of the concept of creativity and giftedness, we launched the “Mawhiba Classes” program in the academic year 2009/2010, in cooperation with a number of public and private schools in the Kingdom, where the schools were selected according to precise specifications, in terms of infrastructure, teaching methods, evaluation methods, learning methods, and teacher qualification.
Mawhiba Classes
Mawhiba Classes Program is implemented in collaboration with a number of selected public and private schools in the cities covered by the program.
Program Objectives:
• To provide gifted students in Grades 4 through 12 with an additional advanced curriculum, internationally recognized, alongside the curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education.
• Enrollment in Mawhiba Classes is exclusive to students registered in the National Program for Gifted Identification.
• Enhancing performance levels in selected schools dedicated to creative and gifted students, and supporting them in meeting the standards of effective school quality.
• Empowering schools to implement advanced curricula in core subjects and to use appropriate teaching, learning, and assessment strategies, in order to develop the abilities of gifted students and enable them to gain admission to prestigious universities.
• Engaging parents in the education and upbringing of their children, and promoting the principle of community participation.
Program Pillars:
Selection of Schools
This pillar is dedicated to developing comprehensive methods, standards, and tools for identifying high-performing public and private schools that meet the criteria for partnership with Mawhiba. It includes the application of these standards through multiple evaluation stages to assess schools interested in joining the Mawhiba Classes Program. Based on the evaluation results, recommendations are formulated to guide the selection of eligible schools. The pillar also encompasses the selection and training of local evaluators to ensure the consistent and effective use of Mawhiba’s evaluation standards during the school selection process. In addition, it focuses on creating tools and strategies to enhance the performance of participating schools and on coordinating professional development and training programs for the staff of partner schools, in collaboration with the training pillar.
Training and Professional Development
The training pillar aims to raise awareness among key groups about giftedness, creativity, the characteristics of gifted students, and effective strategies for supporting their development. It seeks to establish a stimulating educational environment that nurtures gifted students both in classrooms and across schools and their wider communities. Additionally, this pillar focuses on providing teachers with the strategies needed to effectively implement Mawhiba curricula and integrate them with the existing curriculum developed by the Ministry of Education. A primary objective is to deepen teachers’ understanding—especially those working with gifted students—of the activities and methodologies used in Mawhiba’s programs. The training initiatives are designed to engage a wide range of stakeholders, including school coordinators, principals, teachers, and parents.
Curricula
This pillar focuses on overseeing the implementation of advanced supplementary curricula in science and mathematics. These materials are designed to offer a variety of advanced activities that complement, rather than replace, the curricula developed by the Ministry of Education. The primary objective of these curricula is to promote the development of various aspects of the gifted student’s personality, including a deeper knowledge and understanding of key concepts and topics by enriching their knowledge with modern, in-depth information. The curricula emphasize advanced skills specific to the academic subjects, such as understanding major concepts, clarity of ideas, and the development of complex cognitive structures. In addition, they aim to foster essential values, attitudes, and traits, including curiosity, risk-taking, creativity, confidence, open-mindedness, and cooperation, as well as various skills including generalization, reasoning, critical thinking, self-reflection, communication, and dialogue.
Evaluation
The Evaluation Pillar is designed to monitor and assess the effectiveness of the Mawhiba Classes Program while promoting a student-centered learning environment. It emphasizes the importance of evaluation as a tool for learning, not just a measure of learning outcomes. This pillar focuses on equipping all program teachers with comprehensive training and covers a variety of assessment methods, including authentic assessments, performance evaluations, peer assessments, self-assessments, project-based assessments, and the maintenance of student achievement portfolios.
To achieve the above, an end-of-year test was conducted for Mawhiba students in mathematics and science, based on the advanced Mawhiba supplementary curricula starting from the academic year 2011-2012. The focus was on the set of standards that the Mawhiba curricula aim to meet regarding the performance level of gifted students in partner schools, helping to assess their progress over time.
Parent Support
The Parent Support Pillar aims to involve parents in the educational process of their sons and daughters by organizing meetings that introduce Mawhiba curricula and assessment methods. It also focuses on educating parents about their role in the educational process and supporting the program's activities in fostering communication with parents.

• Studying advanced curricula in science and mathematics, which will enhance various aspects of the gifted student’s personality by focusing on advanced knowledge and understanding, fostering creativity, utilizing logical arguments, emphasizing attention to detail, and developing logical thinking, reasoning, and the ability to form abstract mental images.
• Providing opportunities for many Mawhiba students to participate in a range of local, national, and international competitions and programs for gifted students, achieving notable accomplishments such as medals, top positions, and awards.
• Enabling many Mawhiba students to secure spots in the most prestigious local and international universities.

School Joining System for the Mawhiba Classes Program
Partnership with Mawhiba
Mawhiba seeks to expand its network of partnerships with qualified public and private schools that are capable of providing high-quality educational support for gifted students. Partner schools are selected according to approved criteria and requirements that ensure the school environment is well prepared to effectively implement the Mawhiba Classes Program.
Partner schools benefit from an integrated range of services and support, including advanced supplementary curricula, training and professional development programs, educational consultations, assessment and monitoring tools, as well as the nomination of eligible gifted students to join the program.
Mawhiba offers several partnership models designed to accommodate differences in school type, location, and level of readiness, helping expand access to high-quality educational opportunities for gifted students across the Kingdom.
Partnership Models
Government School Model
This model is designed for partnerships with public schools dedicated to gifted education, as well as public schools that operate gifted classes under various education administrations, provided that they meet the criteria for joining Mawhiba’s Partner Schools Network.
Schools under this model receive the full range of Mawhiba services, including the nomination of high-performing gifted students, advanced supplementary curricula, teacher training, educational consultations, and a wide range of assessment methods.
Supervision and follow-up are carried out by the gifted education departments within the respective education administrations. Continuation under this model is directly linked to student performance in the annual assessment conducted at the end of each academic year.
The partnership agreement is valid for three years and may be extended.
Support Model
This is a contractual partnership model between Mawhiba and selected schools. It is primarily designed for schools located in medium-sized and smaller cities and may also be implemented in outlying areas of major cities where no Mawhiba partner schools are available.
Schools under this model receive the full range of Mawhiba services, including the nomination of high-performing gifted students, advanced supplementary curricula, teacher training, educational consultations, and a wide range of assessment methods.
In return, participating schools are required to cover the cost of at least 250 free seats for students taking the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test as part of the National Program for Gifted Identification, supported by a promotional campaign for the test.
Schools must also provide at least 20 scholarships annually, distributed as follows:
5 scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees.
5 scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees.
10 scholarships covering 25% of tuition fees.
This model is implemented for one year, while each individual student scholarship is valid for three years.
Scholarship levels are determined according to the performance of nominated students on the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test. The higher the student’s score, the greater the level of financial support provided by the school.
Full scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees are offered to students in Grade 4, Grade 7, and Grade 10, while scholarships covering 50% or 25% of tuition fees are available across all grade levels.
At the end of the first year, the school’s performance is evaluated based on the effectiveness of its promotion of the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test and its commitment to implementing the program. Schools that successfully meet the evaluation requirements enter into a new agreement and transition to the Classification Model.
Classification Model
This is a contractual partnership model between Mawhiba and selected schools. Participating schools receive the full range of Mawhiba services, including the nomination of high-performing gifted students, advanced supplementary curricula, teacher training, educational consultations, and a wide range of assessment methods.
In return, participating schools are required to provide at least 40 scholarships annually, distributed as follows:
10 scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees.
10 scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees.
20 scholarships covering 25% of tuition fees.
The model runs for three years, and each individual student scholarship is also valid for three years.
Scholarship levels are determined according to the performance of nominated students on the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test. The higher the student’s score, the greater the level of financial support provided by the school.
Full scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees are offered to students in Grade 4, Grade 7, and Grade 10, while scholarships covering 50% or 25% of tuition fees are available across all grade levels.

Partnership Model
This is a contractual partnership model between Mawhiba and selected schools. Participating schools receive the full range of Mawhiba services, including the nomination of high-performing gifted students, advanced supplementary curricula, teacher training, educational consultations, and a wide range of assessment methods.
In return, participating schools are required to offer a discount of at least 50% on approved school seats for gifted students nominated by Mawhiba.
The discount applies to eligible gifted students from Grade 4 through Grade 12.
After three years, the school’s performance is evaluated, and the agreement may be renewed upon successful completion of the evaluation requirements.
This model applies to schools that currently have partnership agreements with Mawhiba, as well as schools that have successfully completed the required period under the Support Model and Classification Model.
Basic Eligibility Requirements for Schools
Schools must meet the following basic requirements to be eligible to apply:
The school must have been in operation for at least five years.
The school must operate in a building designated for educational purposes.
The school building must be modern, in good condition, and subject to regular maintenance.
The school must have achieved an Excellence or Advanced rating in the evaluation conducted by the Education Evaluation Commission.
The school must have a complete administrative and teaching staff.
The school must have adequate essential educational facilities and equipment, including laboratories, computer equipment, and other necessary facilities.
The school must hold a valid Civil Defense license or other applicable regulatory approval.
The educational license and commercial registration of the applying educational institution must be valid.
The school must meet all approved requirements and criteria for applying to join the Mawhiba Classes Program.
Note: Meeting the basic eligibility requirements does not guarantee final acceptance. Each school’s application is subject to the required evaluation stages, a site visit, and completion of the final approval requirements.

Schools complete the application and submit the required documents and supporting materials through the online system.
04 | Review of Applications and Requirements

School applications are reviewed to verify compliance with the eligibility requirements and conditions.
05 | Online Meetings with Shortlisted Schools
9–17 November 2026
Online meetings are held with initially shortlisted schools to discuss program requirements and complete the evaluation process.
06 | Site Visits to Shortlisted Schools
29 November – 24 December 2026
Site visits are conducted to assess school readiness and verify compliance with the program’s criteria and requirements.
07 | Approval of Partner Schools
3–7 January 2027
The final list of schools that have successfully completed the evaluation stages and met the partnership requirements is approved.
08 | Completion of Partnership Agreements with Approved Schools
10 January – 11 February 2027
The partnership agreement process is completed with the approved schools, including defining the roles and responsibilities of both parties.
