What is the purpose of joining the Mawhiba Classes Program?
Joining the program enables eligible schools to provide a high-quality educational environment for gifted students while benefiting from advanced supplementary curricula, professional training programs, educational consultations, and assessment and monitoring tools.
Which schools are eligible to apply?
Public and private schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia may apply, subject to the approved eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and available partnership models.
Does a school need to have been operating for a minimum period before applying?
Yes. A school must have been operating for at least five years. An exception may be made for schools that have been operating for more than three years and have achieved outstanding evaluation results.
Does meeting the initial requirements guarantee school approval?
No. Meeting the initial requirements allows the school to proceed to the evaluation stages. Final approval depends on the evaluation results and the extent to which the school meets the program’s criteria.
What criteria are used to evaluate schools?
The evaluation covers eight key areas:
Academic performance of students; strength of leadership and effectiveness of school management; positive school climate and spirit of collaboration; quality of teaching and learning practices; effective classroom management; support for student personal development; level of parental involvement; and availability and quality of laboratory facilities and school resources.
Is the evaluation based only on the school’s facilities and resources?
No. The evaluation is broader and considers the quality of school leadership and educational practices, the learning environment, student performance, parental involvement, as well as the readiness of facilities and resources.
Are there different partnership models?
Yes. The program offers four partnership models: the Public Model, Support Model, Classification Model, and Partnership Model. The appropriate model is applied in accordance with the program’s approved criteria and requirements.
Do all applicant schools follow the same partnership model?
No. The applicable partnership model varies based on the type of school and its fulfillment of the criteria and requirements specified for each model.
How can a school apply to join?
Applications are submitted online through the School Joining System on Mawhiba’s website. Schools complete the joining application forms, upload the required documents, and submit the application electronically.
Does a school need to visit Mawhiba in person to apply?
No. The application process is completed electronically through the School Joining System on Mawhiba’s official website
Which documents are required for the application?
The school must upload the documents and forms requested in the School Joining System, in accordance with the requirements specified during the application period.
What happens after an application is submitted?
The application goes through several stages, beginning with a review and verification of requirements, followed by the required evaluation stages for candidate schools, and culminating in final approval.
Is the school evaluated before it is approved?
Yes. Schools are assessed against defined criteria through multiple evaluation methods and stages. Recommendations are then prepared for the approval of schools that meet the required standards.
Is there an on-site school visit?
Yes. An on-site visit is one of the stages in the joining process for candidate schools. Its purpose is to verify the school’s readiness and the extent to which it meets the program’s criteria and requirements.
What is reviewed during the evaluation?
The evaluation considers the learning environment, teaching practices, school leadership, student performance, facilities and resources, and other areas linked to the criteria for approving Mawhiba partner schools.
Is a high score in one area enough for approval?
No. Approval is based on a comprehensive assessment of the school’s readiness across a range of criteria, rather than on performance in a single area.
Are all schools that apply ultimately approved?
No. Submitting an application is only the first step in the evaluation process. Approval is granted to schools that successfully complete the evaluation stages and meet the program’s specified criteria and requirements.
When will the school be notified of the application outcome?
The outcome is communicated after the review and evaluation stages are completed and the final list of approved schools is confirmed, in accordance with the timeline established for the relevant joining cycle.
What support and services does a school receive after approval?
An approved partner school receives a comprehensive package of services and support, including training programs, educational consultations, advanced supplementary curricula, and ongoing support and follow-up related to program implementation.
Does Mawhiba provide specialized curricula for gifted students?
Yes. In addition to the curricula approved by the Ministry of Education, students in Mawhiba Classes study Mawhiba’s advanced supplementary curricula in mathematics and science.
Do school staff receive training?
Yes. Professional training and development for staff at partner schools are key components of the support Mawhiba provides to its partner schools.
Does Mawhiba’s relationship with the school end once the partnership agreement is signed?
No. The partnership includes ongoing follow-up and support throughout program implementation; it is not limited to school approval or the signing of an agreement.
Is the school required to designate a program coordinator?
Yes. The school is required to designate a Mawhiba Coordinator to follow up on the program, coordinate with Mawhiba, maintain communication, and organize implementation-related procedures.
Do all students at a partner school automatically become Mawhiba Classes students?
No. The school joins as a partner in implementing the program. Student admission to Mawhiba Classes is subject to the approved eligibility requirements, qualification score, and nomination process.
What is the difference between a school joining the program and a student joining Mawhiba Classes?
School joining means that the school has met the eligibility requirements and has been approved as a partner school to implement the program. Student joining takes place after the student meets the eligibility requirements for the Mawhiba Classes Program and selects a school from the available partner schools.
How do gifted students gain placement at partner schools?
Students who achieve the approved qualification score for the Mawhiba Classes Program are nominated, after which the system allows them to rank their preferences among the available partner schools.
Which grade levels are covered by the Mawhiba Classes Program?
The program serves students from Grade 4 through Grade 12, subject to the available grade levels, cities, and program regulations.
What are the school’s key responsibilities after approval?
The school is responsible for providing an appropriate environment for program implementation, facilitating student participation, following up on implementation, coordinating with Mawhiba, and complying with the policies, standards, and quality requirements associated with the partnership.
Does a school remain in the program automatically?
Continuation of the partnership is not automatic. It depends on compliance with program requirements, the quality of implementation and performance, and evaluation results, in accordance with the applicable partnership model and approved agreement.
Where can schools find more information?
More information is available through Mawhiba’s official website, the School Joining System, and Mawhiba’s official communication channels.
Does submitting an application mean the school has become a Mawhiba partner school?
No. Submitting an application marks the beginning of the joining process. The application is subject to review and evaluation before final approval is granted.
Does joining the program mean the school is approved, or that its students are admitted?
This application relates specifically to the school’s eligibility to join the partnership with Mawhiba. It does not mean that all students at the school are admitted to the Mawhiba Classes Program; student eligibility and admission follow separate criteria and procedures.
